Do you consider yourself a “Go-Getter”? This podcast focuses on this habit of happy and successful individuals and has some great ideas on how you can be someone who is full of ambition so you can realize accomplishment. This episode of the Hike Healthy Podcast includes a hike at Priest Lake in the Idaho Panhandle. It is such a beautiful part of the U.S.A. and I’ve got some great pictures you can see below. On this particular
hike, I climbed to the top of Lookout Mountain. When I go to Priest Lake, I stay at one of the campgrounds in our tent trailer or we stay at my uncle’s cabin or a friend’s cabin. This visit, we stayed at the friend’s cabin. I always climb Lookout Mountain whenever I come to Priest Lake. I love seeing the sunrise over the Selkirk Mountains and the view of the lake.
Just so you know, this week’s foreign language clip from Hassan was Arabic!
I also mentioned the Go-Getter story also known as the Blue Vase and Dan Miller’s 48 Days to the Work You Love. There are links to both of those here.
Quotes from this episode of the Hike Healthy Podcast:
A satisfied need no longer motivates. Steven R. Covey
We need to steer clear of this poverty of ambition, where people want to drive fancy cars and wear nice clothes and live in nice apartments but don’t want to work hard to accomplish these things. Everyone should try to realize their full potential. Barack Obama
Do you want to do this hike yourself? To get to the trailhead, you first need to go to northern Idaho. Get to the town of Priest River and take Highway 57 north to Priest Lake. You will travel north about 40 miles to Kalispell Bay Road. Turn right (east) on Kalispell Bay Road and travel approximately 1.8 miles to a small road on the left that is closed with a bar across the road. There is room here for 1 or 2 cars to park, then you head up the trail! You will see a sign that says “trail 365 and outlet bay trail” You are in the right place, have a great hike!
