HHP 014: The Road Less Traveled – Zion Narrows Hike, Hike Healthy Podcast, helping you take control of your lifestyle

A poem from notable poet Robert Frost is the basis for this episode of the Hike Healthy Podcast.  It is a topic which strikes me as advice for life.  The Road Less Travelled can be applied to how we live our lives, the way we make choices.  Do we follow the crowd or do we make choices that may differentiate us from the big group of people?  It may be smarter to pick a path that isn’t so crowded because….click on the read more link below for the full story and show notes

Being Active Can be More Than Hiking: GoPro Video on a Mountain Bike Ride

Hikehealthy.com and the Hike Healthy Podcast are all about helping you take control of your lifestyle. Part of that is encouraging you to be as active as you can. That activity doesn’t have to be hiking. Though most of the posts on hikehealthy.com and the Hike Healthy Podcast will be about hiking, this post is about bicycling! I had a great ride with a couple of friends along the White Bluffs which border the Columbia River near my home in the Tri-Cities of Washington State. I even did a GoPro video of part of the ride along a narrow……..Click the Read More link below for pictures, the video, a map and more details.

HHP 010: Plantar Fasciitis, Conquer Your Foot Pain! Hike Healthy Podcast

It all started when I jumped to the ground and felt like a pop on the bottom of my foot.  I limped around for days thinking it was just a bruised heel.  Little did I know that “bruised heel” would plague me for years!  Well, I finally took a multi-pronged approach which worked and now I want to share that information with anyone who is struggling with Plantar Fasciitis.  The Medscape web site says about a million people visit medical professionals each year for Plantar Fasciitis.  10% of Americans have issues with heel pain.  The cost of treatments for Plantar Fasciitis is estimated between 200-400 million dollars! There are different names for it, some people mistakenly call it heel spurs, other names are jogger’s heel, tennis heel, runner’s heel.  Well, I didn’t really care what they called it, I only knew I wanted help, so I did Click on read more link below to continue.
